DRAW-IN
STATE HOUSE, Augusta
Thurs., Feb18 9am -1 pm press conference 10am
CODEPINK Maine joins Union of Maine Visual Artists and
artists Natasha Mayers, Kenny Cole and Rob Shetterley and other Maine artists
to bring an event to our state capital!
Messengers are needed to deliver art to legislative
offices. Please come and show your support for spending on human needs.
This art action is part of a
90 Day Campaign to bring our war dollars home.
http://www.bringourwardollarshome.org/
Show solidarity with peace, and spending on human needs
rather than warfare and weapons.
Bring your imagination. This will be a fun action! Artists
will display work and also perform on the spot, asking passersby what they
would spend $2.5 billion on, then drawing it for them.
One month before this date, a news conference at the
State House launched the Bring Our War $$ Home campaign, receiving wide
coverage. A visionary and joyful expression of what our spending priorities
should be will enrich and extend the campaign on Feb. 18.
Thank you to everyone participating!
